How Much Do Your Services Cost Out of Pocket?

Our itemized services are priced similarly to other maternity care providers in the area. Typically, routine maternity care services are “bundled” together to streamline the billing process. While this approach simplifies the process, it can still be complex. To ensure accuracy and efficiency, we work with a medical biller who specializes in maternity services to handle this process effectively.

Therefore, our routine maternity care services are bundled to include routine prenatal visits, birth, routine postpartum care, and routine newborn care, offering a significant discount compared to paying for each service separately. The bundled cost of routine care is $8,000.

If we are not in-network with your insurance company or you are uninsured, we offer a Cash Pay/Early Pay Discount. With this discount, your estimated cost of routine care is reduced from $8,000 to $6,000, provided the total is paid by 36 weeks of pregnancy. This represents a savings of $2,000.

The prices listed above reflect the cost of routine midwifery care and do not include the fee for use of the birth center facility.

How Can You Offer this Discount?

Processing insurance claims and writing itemized statements can be both time-consuming and costly. By avoiding the administrative costs of processing insurance claims and itemized statements with our biller, we can pass the savings directly to you.

We are happy to answer any questions or discuss your specific situation further. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

Do You Accept My Insurance?

We are in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Cigna, and Aetna plans for midwifery care only. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Medicaid (TennCare or Kentucky Medicaid plans), Medicare, TRICARE, Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO’s), or Marketplace plans.

Since insurance coverage varies by individual plan, the best way to confirm if we are in-network and determine your maternity benefits is to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. Once you begin care our biller will verify your maternity benefits and provide a detailed estimate of your cost for routine services based on your coverage.

We strive to make our services accessible and offer flexible, interest-free payment plans to accommodate different financial situations. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Do You Accept Tricare?

Unfortunately, we do not accept Tricare. As a mixed CNM/CPM team, Tricare does not currently cover our services.

We do offer a Cash Pay/Early Pay Discount which reduces your estimated cost of routine care from $8,000 to$6,000, provided the total is paid by 36 weeks of pregnancy. This represents a savings of $2,000.

If you would like to see Tricare expand its coverage to include all licensed midwives services, we encourage you to contact Tricare and your local Congress representative to advocate for policy changes. Please let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Do You Accept Healthshare Plans?

Yes, however, Clarksville Midwifery and Birth Center cannot currently directly bill any healthshare plan. All healthshare plan members can choose between the Cash Pay/Early Pay Discount (no itemized receipts) or choose to use our biller to create an estimate letter and itemized receipts for submission to their plan once care with Clarksville Midwifery and Birth Center is complete.

The Birth Center Facility Fee

The birth center facility fee covers the use of the birth center for labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum recovery period. Currently all birth center births are charged as self pay as we are not in network with any insurance companies for the facility fee at this time.

The standard facility fee per day is:

  • $3,000 for the mother

  • $3,000 for the newborn

Because we are not currently contracted with insurance companies for the per day facility fee, we offer a 50% self-pay discount. This reduces the total facility fee to $3,000 combined for both mother and baby. This is often less than what most people would pay when using their insurance for a facility fee.

Please note that this fee is separate from the midwifery care fee.

Birth Assistant Fee

For safety reasons, Clarksville Midwifery and Birth Center makes every effort for our midwives to not attend births alone. We make every effort to have at least two professionals present at every birth: a midwife and a birth assistant. This ensures a higher level of care and support during your birth experience.

Are There Additional Charges?

Yes. At Clarksville Midwifery, we strive to be as transparent as possible about our pricing. However, like other maternity care providers, the estimate of care we provide is an estimate and not a final bill. Below is a list of examples of potential additional charges. These are not included in your estimate for one of two reasons:

Not everyone requires them.

They are items or services provided by external providers or facilities that you may be referred to

Please note, this list is not exhaustive, and additional charges may apply based on your individual needs. Let us know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

  • “Loved everyone on this team! They made my first pregnancy and birth experience absolutely incredible. I was always heard and taken great care of. Will 100% choose them again for my family!”—Hanah

  • “Jenny & Christy were amazing throughout my pregnancy. The whole team was so informative & welcoming. I appreciated the supportive but realistic conversations we had regarding pregnancy in general & also them helping me manage my GDM through diet & lifestyle choices. Jenny attended my daughter’s birth & was supportive & encouraging. I felt safe & knew we were in good hands throughout labor and delivery. I’m so grateful to have Clarksville midwifery as a resource to our community!”—Elizabeth

  • “Can not recommend this place and these lovely women enough! After having two hospital births where I tore both times, my home birth was everything I wanted it to be and was the easiest and quickest recovery because I listened to my body (didn’t tear at all!). If you are on the fence at all, please don’t be worried about putting your confidence here. They work with you, support you, inform you well, and make sure you and baby are safe. I am now 10 months postpartum, and still think back to my birthing experience as a wonderful time. If I was still in Clarksville, all my babies would be born at the hands of these capable women, but since I’m not, I’ll settle with a 5 (would give higher if I could!) star review.” —Sarah

  • “I had a great experience with Clarksville Midwifery. Jenny and Christy are very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. My baby was born safely at home. I had a smooth labor and delivery. Jenny and Christy make such a great team, the ladies at the front desk are punctual and exceptional, overall just 10/10! Christy and Jenny are both super knowledgeable, and dedicated. I felt empowered throughout this entire journey. No question went unanswered, no concern went unnoticed.
I am super grateful for the support and care of the entire team from pregnancy, labor/delivery and postpartum. My experience was an answered prayer and I’m super grateful that Clarksville Midwifery will forever be apart of my family’s story.” — D’Asia

  • “If I could give them more stars I would! I love these women so much! I planned a home birth and well it didn't work out that way, I delivered in Nashville and was able to have a great midwife experience there! I appreciate Jenny and Christy so much!
